Several times throughout today, I felt the urge to recite
Blessed are you, Eternal God, Sovereign of the universe, who has given us life, sustained us, and helped us to reach this moment.
It is tradition to recite שֶׁהֶחֱיָנוּ wehen we reach special occasions. What an incredible day it was.
Our first day together in our new school was filled with much excitement. We greeted one another in morning meeting, celebrated receiving our Writer’s Notebooks, we created midrashim, we met Efrat (our new Hebrew teacher), we made observations of objects found in nature, we had recess outside in what will soon become Temple Israel’s Woodland Wilderness Center, we chanted mincha, we created mathematical equations that tell something about each of us, and we ended our day together with community building games.
I want to thank you for giving us your children to teach this year.
